How is BioSil® different than the products that contain collagen?

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How is BioSil® different than the products that contain collagen?

A: BioSil is not made out of collagen, it generates collagen. When you ingest collagen, like the collagen supplements use actual Type I, Type II, or Type III collagen, your body breaks it down and uses it as food. Your body views collagen (a protein) like any other protein-rich meal. Meat. Seafood. Poultry. Even a protein drink. It breaks it down into it’s component parts and uses it as an energy source.

BioSil, by contrast, switches on your body’s own collagen-producing cells. In skin these cells are called fibroblasts. In bone, they’re called osteoblasts. When your fibroblasts and osteoblasts begin to slow down, as they do with age, collagen production diminishes. No food, no collagen supplement like collagen powder or collagen containing pill can get your fibroblasts and osteoblasts back running at full capacity. Not one.

Only BioSil – with ch-OSA® – has been clinically proven, in humans, in double blind placebo controlled clinical trials to increase collagen formation. What’s more, BioSil protects the newly formed collagen, as well as your existing collagen, from breakdown due to homocysteine – so you get to keep it.
