What gives actress Chloe Grace Moretz her lit-from-within glow? Could it be her film’s recent big win at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival? Or maybe her multi-step skin routine? Chances are, it’s a mixture of both.
The soon-to-be 21-year-old face of Coach and star of The “Miseducation of Cameron Post,” has been open in the past about just how much work it takes to look so good, telling InStyle that she “wear[s] hair extensions,” and uses up to “30 different [skincare] products every single day ranging from stem-cell cream to microdermabrasion.” So, while you may not be able to score as big of a “life win” (like the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance) you can still reproduce the basics of her legendary beauty ritual if you’re after a luminescent glow like Chloe’s.
Sure, part of her routine includes frequent fancy facials at an exclusive Beverly Hills dermatologist, but many of her favorite skin strategies are ripe for replication at home.
Here are some of the best tips to copy from Chloe’s star-worthy beauty routine:
1. You don’t always need fancy products.
Moretz has shocked young fans before by admitting that, although she once struggled with cystic acne, her now stunning skin is partly due to cleansing her face with olive oil.
2. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate.
In addition to microdermabrasion treatments at the dermatologist’s office, the actress regularly uses an at-home scrub with micro-beads to slough off rough skin.
3. Don’t be afraid to go bold with your best feature.
Chloe’s thick, dark brows are part of her image, and she likes to enhance their appeal by dying them dark, and drawing them in thicker with a simple brow pencil. She once told Allure that, “makeup artists have wanted to pluck my eyebrows, but I wouldn’t let them touch them.”
4. Take it easy on off days.
The star doesn’t always have her hair done up in red-carpet-ready fashion. Copy her day-off practice of simply curling her hair and then “sleeping on it,” to snag those beachy waves.
5. Mix low-tech with high-tech.
While she says “taking your time” with a bit of old-fashioned elbow grease while washing your face is her biggest skin care tip, Moretz also moisturizes with a product that boosts cell turnover.
